Registration for the Medway Test for September 2026 secondary transfer will be open 19 May – 13 June 2025. In other words, if your child is in Year 5 now and you are considering sending your child to a Medway grammar school in September 2026, you will need to register your child for the 11+ grammar school entrance test (the ‘Medway Test) in May 2025.

As with any 11+ entrance test, if your child has special educational needs (SEN), speak to your child’s current school’s SENCO, who may be able to offer advice on this. Alternatively, the relevant council department can be reached via email on medwaytest@medway.gov.uk

Typically, Medway Council will let parents know when and where the Medway Test will take place via email. If your child misses the test due to illness, you may request a re-sit—check with Medway Council for details.
