The deadline to register your child for the Medway 11 plus test is Friday 12 June 2026. Registration opened on Monday 18 May 2026.
How to register
You must register your child online through the Medway Council website. The process requires you to provide your child’s current school details. If you cannot find the school on the list, email admissions@medway.gov.uk with the school’s name and address so it can be added to the system before you continue.
Please bear in mind that an 11+ test registration is not a school application. You must still apply for school places separately during the September/October application window. If you have more than one child in the same year group, such as twins or triplets, submit a separate registration for each child.
Test format
The Medway test is very much standard (English, Maths, VR and NVR). Pupils must answer via a multiple choice answer sheet. Any good 11 plus tuition centre will have prepared pupils well for the exam by offering routine mock tests using the multiple choice answer format.
After you register
You should receive a confirmation email saying that your child is registered. If you do not receive this email, your child is not registered.
Special arrangements and EHCP
If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan, you still register in the same way. For any special arrangements due to a disability or learning need, you must first register your child. Then speak to your child’s school before the registration closing date. The school must submit a special arrangements request form by Monday 22 June 2026. This includes cases where a child needs to sit alone due to behaviours like humming or singing without awareness.
Children with an EHCP or Person Centred Annual Review will be granted 25 per cent extra time if the school deems it appropriate. Using an asthma inhaler on test day does not require a request form. Special arrangements are not transferable between different local authorities or tests.
Updating details
If you need to update your child’s details after registering, email medwaytest@medway.gov.uk. Changes cannot be guaranteed in time for the test.
No late registrations
Registrations after Friday 12 June 2026 cannot be accepted. There are no exceptions to this rule.
