If you’re waiting for the 11+ results, it means the days of ferrying your child to an 11 plus tuition centre and stressing over mock results are over- congratulations!
So, when do the results actually come out?
For families in South East London, the answer depends on which selective test your child has taken. Bexley, Bromley, Kent and Medway all have different arrangements and release dates.
Because dates can change, we’ve included links to the relevant official council or school information so you can check the latest position yourself.
Bexley 11+ Results
The Bexley Selection Test is used for entry to Bexley’s four grammar schools:
- Beths Grammar School
- Bexley Grammar School
- Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School
- Townley Grammar School
For September 2027 entry, Bexley Council will provide the result on Friday 2 October from 4pm and onwards.
Results are sent to parents by email.

Bromley 11+ Results
Bromley is slightly different because the two main selective schools have their own testing arrangements.
Newstead Wood School
For September 2027 entry, Newstead Wood’s entrance test took place in September 2026, with results expected in mid-October 2026. As per their website:
“Test results will always be emailed to parents at least one week before the CAF submission deadline.”
Parents should check the school’s admissions information for the latest arrangements.

St Olave’s Grammar School
St Olave’s operates a two-stage selection process.
The first stage, the Selective Eligibility Test (SET), took place in September 2026. Successful candidates then progress to the second stage.
The first-stage results are expected in mid-October 2026.

Why Bromley needs a little extra attention
If your child has taken the St Olave’s test, the first result is not the final outcome. There is a further selection stage before an application for a Year 7 place is complete.
Kent Test Results
The Kent grammar school entrance examination is known as the Kent Test.
For children applying for September 2027 entry, the result is due on:
Thursday 15 October 2026
Parents who provided an email address when registering for the test receive the result electronically. Others receive it by post.
Check the date directly with Kent County Council:

Medway Test Results
The Medway 11+ is known as the Medway Test and is used by Medway’s grammar schools.
For September 2027 entry, parents can expect results from:
Wednesday 14 October 2026
Medway Council says that parents who supplied a valid email address will receive their result electronically after 10am. Results can also be sent by post.

What Happens After the Result?
The 11+ result is an important milestone, but it is not the same as receiving a secondary school offer.
Once results are available, parents need to complete or finalise their Common Application Form (CAF) and list their preferred schools.
So the process is broadly:
11+ test → 11+ result → CAF application → school allocation
The CAF is discussed at length in another article.
Parents should also remember that achieving the required standard for a selective school does not necessarily guarantee a place. Where there are more eligible applicants than available places, the school’s published oversubscription criteria are used. In fact, even when a school is not oversubscribed, it is a good idea to be aware of schools decide who to offer a place to– especially grammar schools.
For Parents in South East London
If you live around Welling, Blackfen, Sidcup or elsewhere in Bexley, you may be considering more than one selective school system.
Your child could potentially be involved in different testing arrangements depending on the schools you have chosen, including:
- Bexley Selection Test
- St Olave’s entrance test
- Newstead Wood entrance test
- Kent Test
- Medway Test
This is why there isn’t one universal ’11+ results day’.
If your child has taken more than one test, check each school’s or council’s information separately.
In Summary
For parents searching “when do 11+ results come out in 2026?”, there is no single answer.
For the main selective tests relevant to families in and around South East London:
Bexley: early October
Bromley: mid-October
Medway: 14 October
Kent: 15 October
The exact arrangements vary between schools, particularly in Bromley.
If you’re waiting for your child’s result, bookmark the relevant official council or school page and check it directly.
